This garment is a homage to a certain designer, with an illustrator creating a Pop Art-inspired paint crack pattern. The original artwork was then inkjet printed onto cotton fabric.
More than just a reproduction of the graphic, the aim was to transfer the unique nuances of handcrafted work directly onto the product.
Details such as the flow andかすれ (fading) of the pen strokes, the light and dark variations from pooled ink, and the uneven rhythm of the cracks—organic expressions that can only be created by human hands—are faithfully reproduced down to the finest detail. By intentionally retaining elements that tend to be uniform in digital renditions, we visualize a non-uniform "fluctuation."
Combined with the natural texture of cotton, this gives the graphic depth and warmth, resulting in a finish that appeals to both sight and touch. While being an homage, it incorporates a unique interpretation, elevating it into an item that transcends craft and contemporary expression.
